It's a sad, sad day...

My little Lincoln has been moved from his infant carrier, to his convertable car seat! You know what that means, right? It means that he's no longer a little (not that he was ever very little) baby! Oh what a sad day it was. As much as I hated dragging around that gigantic, and very heavy carrier, I have to admit that I'm going to miss the convenience of the infant seat! How nice it was to just take him out of the car when he was asleep and set him in the bedroom until he woke up from his nap. I'm going to miss those days. Mostly what I'm sad about is that my little guy is growing up, soon we're going to have two toddlers! YIKES!

We got him the Britax Boulevard and actually we got Riley a Boulevard, too. I wanted them to have the same brand so I sold her old seat and got one for her too (I know, it may be ridiculous, but that's what I thought was best). He seems to really like it, and I really like it too! It's easy to install and he looks comfy in it. Check out the seat, if you're on the market for a convertable car seat, I highly recommend this one (we've been using Riley's for months now).

Lincon's last ride in the infant car seat!! :(

Lincoln was happy to be able to see everything (even if the sun was in his eyes!).

Splish, splash, we were takin' a bath...

Lincoln @ 10 months

(insert picture here--when I take it:))

My sweet Lincoln is 10 months already, I can't believe it!! When I took him for his latest doctor's appointment he weighed 17 lbs. 12 oz. (less than 5th %ile) and was 28.25 inches (25th %ile). I can't believe he hasn't even doubled his birth weight (as you know, he was 9 lbs. 6 oz at birth); The doctor said babies usually double their birth weight by 6 months and triple it by 1 year, nope, that's not happening. In fact, Riley at age 2 didn't even triple her birth weight. Our kids just aren't going to be big kids, but they didn't seem concerned about his weight. Plus, I don't think he looks skinny, actually he looks chunky to me :).

He still has 2 teeth which I'm fine with since I'm still nursing!! I can see the top two teeth coming in, so I'm hoping that's why he's not sleeping well and once those come in I hope he goes back to his normal sleeping schedule! He also is pulling himself up to standing and he's eating mostly all table food and is feeding himself. He army crawls still, but he probably won't crawl on hands and knees ever. I'm thinking he'll go right to walking! He's quite the momma's boy still and I LOVE it. He doesn't have stranger anxiety too bad, nothing like Riley had!! He also loves playing with Riley and in her room and crawling (aka tackling) all over her.

Emails please...

Hey everyone, some of you know that I switched email addresses a little while ago. Well, my old email account crashed and I lost all of my contacts, so I am asking you if you'll please leave me your emails (in my comments) so I can re-enter them into my new account or you can email me at my old account (ss9112@arbor.edu) and I'll send you my new email address!! Thanks.

PS. If I emailed you from my new account, then I don't need your email address as I already have it.

Riley vs. Sleep...

This is what bedtime (now) looks like in our home...at least she's asleep!!

What a stubborn little thing we've got! Actually tonight was a record (seriously), it only took 45 minutes for her to fall asleep!!

What we've been up to

I feel like I haven't really updated about what's going on in our life for a while, so this post is dedicated to just that. As most of you know we transitioned Riley into a big-girl bed a couple of weeks ago and it's going HORRIBLY! Oh it's so frustrating. To be honest I think it's 20 times more difficult than potty training was! We've pushed back her bedtime from 7 until 8 hoping that she'd be more tired and therefore give us less hassle at night, well nope it hasn't stopped her. Also she's now rarely taking a nap because she keeps getting out of bed and plays. She doesn't come out of her room, she just jumps out of her bed, grabs a toy and jumps back in bed. It's difficult because if we lived in a house I'd empty her room--she'd have a bed and a dresser, but as of right now we don't have anywhere else for her toys. I really miss the days of having her in her crib and just pray it gets easier. Her new favorite thing now though is playing "tea party". We have tea parties ALL day long. She can also now count to 25 and can recognize almost all of the letters of the alphabet and can recognize many of her colors. She's a smart little thing (too smart, sometimes!!).

"Wrestling" is their new favorite thing to do. Riley is actually very gentle with Lincoln, she's usually the one who gets hurt (if either of them do). But they have so much fun together!

Matching jammies

Riley and Lincoln were playing in her room while I made dinner. They were both dressed when I left them, someone undressed them both. I wonder who that could have been??? Maybe the child of mine who doesn't like to wear clothes :)!!

Lincoln had a doctors appointment yesterday to recheck his ears. The doc. said his ears look great which I'm so thankful for!! He weighs 17 lbs. 12 oz. and is 28.5 inches long. I'm glad his ears are better, but I wish I had an explanation why he's not sleeping well. I honestly think he's just in the habit of waking up because he was sick for so long that he's just gotten used to it. I can't let him cry at night either because he'll wake up the neighbors and I feel bad waking them up at 2 am. So, I've been so exhausted to say the least. Lincoln is also pulling himself up to standing now. I really didn't think he'd do it for a while now, but last night he really wanted to touch the tv so he did it. He sure is getting big and I can't believe he's going to turn 1 in 2 months!!

My big boy standing!

I've still been going to MOPS which I absolutely love. My group is great and the break is very much needed. I'm also going shopping this weekend all by myself (I think Ty knows I desperately need a break) which I'm looking forward to. Ty has been working a lot lately which we're so thankful for. He's been working 10-12 hour days most days, so he's been really busy and looks forward to the weekends where he can spend more time with the kids. He's really considering taking a career path towards working at the YMCA. He worked there for years and loved it, so he's looking for something higher up to start climbing the ladder. We're praying that he finds something that is suited just for him soon. His job right now is good, but last summer was rough so we hope that either this summer isn't as slow or he finds something else. But he does really like the people he works with now!

That's a quick update on what we've been up to. We're all looking forward to the warmth again. I'm totally getting cabin fever and I know it will help when we can get outside!

Deals!!

Here is what I got this morning.

Ah...I was gone for 2 hours and this is what I came back with. I figured out that I "paid" (on a gift card) a total of just over $60.00 for 36 packs of Huggies Diapers, 55 bottles of shampoo/conditioner, 4 Glad Lasting Impressions, 4 Glade Sense and Sprays, 4 Gillette Fusion Men's razors, 8 boxes of cold and flu medicine, 1 box of tampons, and 1-$15 Starbucks gift card. Not bad for one early morning run. You should see what I got the rest of the weekend, too much to even post about--but I did get over 75 bottles of Colgate, and so much lotion and other FREE!!stuff. Actually over the course of the weekend, I "made" more than $60.00 "buying" stuff, so really all the diapers and stuff I bought this morning for free. I NEVER pay out of pocket for anything I buy at Walgreens; not diapers, deodorant, toothpaste, anything Walgreens carries I actually never have to "pay" for!

(Don't worry, I didn't clean out the shelves, I went to a bunch of different stores)
