Princess and Superhero Day in the Park

I just love living where we do right now because there are so many things for me to take the kids to do. Sure, it would be so much easier to stay home and not do much, but I just love getting them out, seeing and exploring new things around them! Last week we went to the "Princess and Superhero Day" in the park. It was so much fun and Riley was thrilled to wear her princess dress out of the house for once. Ty was excited because Lincoln got to wear his "HULK" shirt that he bought for him!

We went to the park with what seemed like hundreds of other little ones dressed up and we watched the reenactment of Beauty and the Beast put on by The Center Stage (I think that's what it was called). They also got to have story time with Belle. Riley kept calling her "Riley Belle". She'd say "Mommy, look, they're Riley Belle :)". (Belle is Riley's middle name) Guess she doesn't quite understand yet. I was a little hesitant on how she would do sitting still the whole time, but she did wonderfully. It also helps that one of her best buds was there too. Kaitlyn is 6 and just adores Riley. She also loves bossing her around and mothering her. To be honest, I LOVE it! I know that wherever Riley goes Kaitlyn is following and vise versa. Riley just LOVES Kaitlyn and so I worry a little less when she's there :).

Gaston and some of the other characters from the play.

The three babies: Lincoln, Lydia and Luke.

Story time with Belle.

My little Superhero, the Hulk, and princess, Snow White!

Lincoln doing what he does best! Eating!!

Riley and Kaitlyn kept holding onto this stick and dancing when they were playing music and singing.

The cast did a wonderful job and the kids all loved it.

Our weekend...

This weekend was pretty eventful, at least to us it was :)! Ty actually had Friday off so he spent the day in Kalamazoo shopping and looking around with Riley. I stayed home and slept and baked cookies (and ate a lot of batter...oops:))! Then we took a tour the the Hospital where we will have the baby. Since we're new to the area we've never been to the hospital and thought that it would be a good idea to check it out, you can never be too prepared I suppose. I thought that Foote Hospital (where we had Riley) was nice, but it is no comparison to Borgess. The rooms are huge and it seems like a comfortable environment. The nurses that we met were also very nice!

Satuday, a friend of Ty's from high school stopped by because he was in the area. Ty had a great time chatting and catching up and it was the first time he met Riley. Last time we saw him I ws pregnant with Riley, he probably thinks I've been preggo forever...(although I feel like that sometimes too).

Then today, Sunday, Ty had to meet his group for one of his MBA classes in Spring Arbor so Riley and I tagged along and went shopping and to the park while Ty was working on a project. We dropped him off and then Ri and I went to Baby Gap (of course, since I'm addicated to that store!!) and then met up with some friends at the HUGE park in Jackson. We met up with Nich, Jennie and Hailey and Sarah, Ryan and Mia. Before we moved we all got together fairly often, and I miss them all since we've moved. Riley and their girls play so well together and Sarah and Ryan are expecting baby #2 in mid-September, so now our "new baby" will have a playmate too :)! We're so thankful for their friendships...it's great knowing that even after not seeing friends for a couple of months we can still pick up where we left off when we get togehter--like nothing has changed. I forgot my camera at the park, but hopefully I can get the pictures from Jennie or Sarah and post them later. (Here are a couple pics, thanks Jennie :)!)

Jennie and Hailey; Me, Riley and baby #2; Sarah, Mia and baby #2 :)

The girls in their strollers eating a snack (Riley kept feeding both of them, she's learning how to share :)!)

I told Ty that if the day at the park today doesn't put me into labor then nothing will--Riley had such a blast, but I didn't realize how difficult it would be without Ty chasing her. Thankfully our friends really pitched in and helped me a ton with Riley. I think I spent most of the afternoon explaining that "yes, I'm only having one baby", "no, I wasn't due yesterday...", and "my back doesn't hurt as bad as it looks like does...". But overall we had a blast and it was beautiful out, I LOVE this weather! Can't wait until it's here to stay.

A day at the park...

What a beautiful weekend we had!! I LOVE it and can't wait until it's here to stay! Riley and I started by walking on Friday to Walgreens and getting a "snack" which is just down the road. Then on Saturday when Ty was home we walked all the way to Starbucks, which seemed like 10 miles to me (it's actually maybe 1/2 mile)...I was exhausted when we got done. Ty got the usual white chocolate mocha over ice and Riley and I got a water (boring, I know). Then today we took full advantage of the sunshine and warm weather. We went to Gull Lake (mom, Jeff, Jori and Lily are in Hawaii) and Ty got to clean out the Explorer, which he loves doing!! Riley and I played in the yard with bubbles and babies. Then when Ty finished we took a walk around the lake and went to a park. Riley had SO MUCH FUN being able to roam free and run around with no worries. It was so fun watching her, Ty did most of the chasing and I took the pictures since I can barely walk, let alone run! I was telling Ty that I was hoping to take Riley and the new little one to the park a lot this summer but man after today I might have to wait until the weekends when Ty's home to go. Riley is so fast and it's hard for me to chase her around plus I've have the "newbie" strapped on me too probably, but I suppose I'll get the hang of it after a little while. It's hard to believe I'll be chasing 2 little ones around soon!!

Here are some pictures of our adventures this weekend:

So, Friday wasn't quite as warm (probably 55 degrees), but I also probably "over-bundled" her...oh well, at least I know she didn't get cold :)! She had on her normal outfit, with a sweatshirt, her winter coat, a hat, gloves and a thick blanket. Am I being overprotective already??? :)

"Conductor Riley", she LOVED playing in this train...it had about 5 other cars and she jumped from one to the other.

I love this picture of Ri and her little "Pebbles hairdo"!
