Riley's 1st ice cream cone!

We went for ice cream tonight and Riley had her first cone!! She loves chocolate (one thing she got from me) so she had to get chocolate ice cream which made an even bigger mess. But she was enjoying it so we didn't care...

At first she didn't know if she wanted the ice cream. She just kept shaking her head "no" and saying "brrrr..." But once she got a couple of licks it was all over...

"Mom, do I have chocolate on my face??"

I just need to vent...

Anyone ever make the mistake of asking someone when they are due, when in fact they aren't pregnant? Well, people make that mistake more often than you probably think...and I think that most of those people just have to ask me...

To tell you the truth I'm a bit tired to getting asked when I'm due or people telling me congratulations on my pregnancy. I know Lincoln is only a month old but man losing weight this time around has been much more difficult for some reason. Maybe it's because it's my second pregnancy or maybe it's because I put on almost 45 lbs (oops...it must have been those 10 candy bars I ate in 2 days, at least that's what my mom tells me all the time). Either way, I look forward to the day when people don't think I'm pregnant anymore. I still have almost 20 lbs to lose before the beginning of August for my brother's wedding and my good friend Katherine's wedding that I'm in. Anyways, just a bit of advise, if you're not 100% sure if someone is preggo then I wouldn't ask :)!

Another depressing situation that I experienced today...looking for a bathing suit!! I went to find a bathing suit today (my first outing without either of the kiddos) and man it was not fun!! I signed Riley up for swimming lessons which start the beginning of July and after doing so remembered that would mean that I would have to be in the pool too, therefore I needed a bathing suit too. Nothing fit right, not that I expected anything different considering my clothes still don't fit.

It has been hard to exercise or even do sit-ups because a week after Lincoln was born I decided it would be a good idea to take Ri and Lincoln to the park. I was so excited that I could finally play with Riley again because I wasn't huge anymore so I decided to go down the slides with her. Not the best idea. I cracked my tail bone and it still hurts really bad 3 weeks later. So, my stupid "injury" has put my exercising on hold (not that I would have started yet anyways :)!) Anyways, I hope to be able to lose the weight soon and get back into my old clothes.

If all that weren't bad enough, I had to go to the doctor this morning because I have a double breast infection. It hurts SO BAD I can hardly stand it. I had the same problem when I was nursing Riley. It got so bad last time that I had to go to the ER and get an IV. I hope I caught it early enough, this time around. Only time will tell...

Lincoln @ 1 month

Our little Lincoln is 1 month old today, already! How the time flies! I got this idea from the Martha Stewart show to take his picture every month for the first year in a "one year" onesie, so that you can see how much he grows over the course of the year. So we designated this onesie to be it--come to find out he almost fills it out. So I'm not quite sure how well this little "project" will work...it is still too big for him right now, but I'll be surprised if he still fits in it when he's one.

Lincoln also had his one-month check up with Dr. Weiderhold. He looks very healthy...and CHUBBY. He already weighs 10 lbs. 12 oz. which is in the 95th percentile! He is such a great baby, I cannot emphasize it enough. He rarely cries and ever since we brought him home from the hospital he has only woken up once a night to nurse. He smiled for the first time on May 26th when he was almost 3 weeks old and when he is awake is has a constant smile on his face. It is the cutest little smile ever--crooked and big (just like his sister's).

He is probably one of the most laid back babies I've ever seen, not high maintenance at all. He loves being held and especially loves falling asleep on my chest or in my arms. I think I could hold him 24-7 and once Riley goes to bed, I pick him up (even when he's asleep) and hold him the entire night!

We are so thankful for a healthy, happy baby and are so lucky to have him as a part of our family. What a blessing he has been. Already in the last month he has brought so much joy to our lives--my life wouldn't be complete without him.

Lincoln's 1 week picture!

Here is Lincoln's 1 week picture that we had taken! I love his puckered lips in the picture, they are just asking for me to plant a kiss on them!!

The quality isn't that great because we took a picture of a picture, but you get the idea :)! I also just posted it because we just got them back!

"Superbabies"

If any of you know Ty, you know how much he LOVES Superman. When Riley was a newborn I came home from doing errands and looked through the pictures on our camera and found this picture (which is actually really cute)...

Ty's little Supergirl...Riley, 1 week old

Then today after I took a quick nap, I looked through the pictures again on our camera to post about Riley and the nippers and found this picture...

The Nipper Nabber

Riley, as a baby, was never interested in a pacifier. In fact I tried to get her to take one, but she just wouldn't have anything to do with it...until Lincoln got one. Now we call her our "Nipper Nabber". Nipper is another name for a pacifier in our house. I'm not quite sure how the word nipper came about, except that I'm pretty sure Ty came up with it. Lincoln LOVES his nipper and and now Riley loves his nippers too. She can be very helpful when it comes to them. If he drops it out of his mouth she will pick it up and put it back in. However, 9 times out of 10 she'll hear him whine, run over to his bassinet grab his nipper that fell out of his mouth and RUN, hoping I won't notice!!. She's quick too.

This afternoon I was trying to do the dishes and Lincoln started crying so I started looking for his nipper so I could finish the dishes. I looked everywhere and noticed that Riley was being awfully quiet so I asked her if she knew where one of his was...this is where I found her...

It may be hard to tell but she has a whole stash of Lincoln's nippers that she is playing with...

Lincoln's birth announcement...

After hours and hours of work, it is finished!!

Here is Lincoln's birth announcement...

I am definitely not the most creative person, but do enjoy scrapbooking and being crafty! I sent most of them out already (although, some of you may still be getting it in the mail this week) and am glad they are done. Thankfully I had started them before Lincoln was born, otherwise they would never have gotten done as I don't have much (if any) spare time lately. He probably won't like the naked picture when he's older, but I just couldn't resist. :)

I hope in the next few months to pick up on scrapbooking again, but I haven't even come close to even starting Riley's yet (even though I have ALL the "materials" and paper for it).
